We are currently recruiting a HGV Class 2 Driver to join their dedicated team in Reading for on-going work. Immediate start available with consistent hours. You will be working on dustcarts, you’ll play a key role in ensuring waste is collected and disposed of efficiently and responsibly while contributing to their ongoing success.
Induction over two days followed by a driver mentoring programme which can take between 3 and 10 days depending on experience. This is to provide the driver with knowledge and support of the role and allow them to learn it in good time depending on their personal ability.
Drivers begin the shift at 06:00 and seek to finish by 14:30 (30 mins unpaid lunch). There is overtime available and can depend on factors such as traffic, weather and seasonal waste that can effect the finish times.
Monday to Friday, working bank holidays other than Christmas day, boxing day and new year's day.
30 minute break each day a minimum and drivers will follow the GB domestic driver hours.

- Driving to planned collection locations and loading into truck
- Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
- Using onboard technology to complete work notes
- Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads
- Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up
Job description
Safely operate HGV Class 2 vehicles
Perform daily vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance.
Work closely with a team of loaders to complete scheduled routes.
Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and road regulations.
Provide excellent customer service to the public when required.

Requirements:
Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
Rear steer experience
CPC and Digital Tachograph card
Minimum 6 months experience preferred but will accept new drivers
Good understanding of UK driving regulations
