We are recruiting a Mobile Plant Operator near Airdrie, for ongoing cover work, including sickness and holiday cover. This is a great opportunity for an experienced plant operator looking for flexible, ongoing work within a landfill and waste management environment.
Job description
As a Mobile Plant Operator, you will be working on a busy landfill site, operating a range of heavy plant machinery to support daily site operations. This role is ideal for operators experienced with telehandlers, articulated dump trucks (ADT), and other plant equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Operating Telehandler (up to 9m) and Articulated Dump Truck (25T)
- Moving and managing waste materials across the landfill site
- Supporting general site operations and plant movements
- Carrying out daily plant checks and safety inspections
- Following all health & safety and environmental regulations
- Assisting site teams to ensure efficient workflow and operations
Alternative duties may include:
- Operating a Dozer or Compactor (if qualified)

Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday
- 07:45 – 16:15
- 30-minute unpaid break
Requirements:
- Valid NPORS or CPCS Telehandler Licence (up to 9m)
- Valid ADT (Articulated Dump Truck) Licence – 25T
- Experience working as a Mobile Plant Operator / Plant Driver
- Dozer or Compactor tickets (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of health & safety on-site
- Reliable, flexible, and able to cover shifts as required
