We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative to join our team at a busy landfill and waste management site in Somerset.

This is a hands-on, role where you'll play an important part in keeping the site safe, clean, and running efficiently. If you enjoy practical work, can work well as part of a team, and have a strong work ethic, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and assist vehicles entering and leaving the site.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised yard.
• Sort and manage waste materials where required.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties across the site.
• Support site operations and plant operators as needed.
• Complete routine inspections and report any issues or hazards.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Assist with general labouring duties and other tasks as required.
• Operate the Forklift when required
• CSCS/CPCS/NPORS

Essential:

• A positive attitude and willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
• Physically fit and capable of manual handling.

Desirable (but not essential):

• Previous experience in waste management, recycling, construction, or a similar environment.
• Forklift licence.

Working Hours

• Full-time
• Monday to Friday
• 12 hour shifts
